Built quality of this High-resolution (Hi-Res) audio player is good and is made from high quality materials. There is no plastic, everything is made of metal, apparently made of aluminum. The color display is ordinary, its viewing angles are quite small, but in this is not the main thing in audio player when all the necessary information in it can easily be displayed. It is a pity that the font of some of the displayed information is very small and cannot be increased. In general, there are some shortcoming and gaps in this gadgets software settings. For example, in the FM radio's preset mode, it is not possible to switch channels with the two round bottom buttons on the left (Previous track/Rewind & Next track/Fast-Forward). You need to go to the menu, select the item: Select Preset and only then switch to the desired FM radio channel. I think that this can easily fix it in the next versions of the firmware. I want to mention that it's convenient to press all the metal buttons. The control wheel is covered with a rubber layer and it is quite easy to turn it around with one finger, although it is still necessary to get used to it. I also note that the player cannot cope with the cue sheet embedded in one musical album image of .FLAC, .APE or .WAV files to play music track by track, so firstly it will be necessary to cut one single file into the separate track files. But after all, this is not the most important thing, because the main thing is that this High-resolution audio (Hi-Res) player produces a great sound. It does a good job even with in example 96 kHz/24 bit/3000 Kbps .FLAC files. Here in player menu is also is an equalizer with the help of you can really change the type of sound. Worth also mentioning that this gadget has a high-quality voice and FM radio broadcasting recording function. I think that for this price this is a pretty good Hi-Res Audio player/recorder device with a decent sound.

This is delivered in a stylish retail box making it ideal to give as a gift. The first thing I always do with new gadgets is to read the instruction manual and put them on charge. The manual is well written and makes good use of diagrams making it easy to understand and follow. I already had a micro SD card that I use to listen to music in the car, so I installed this and it played instantly, I didn't have to reformat it or alter the songs and books on it in any way. The menu is easy to navigate using the wheel and it's very responsive. As this is going to be used by a a 12 year old to listen to music as she falls asleep at night I appreciate the timer function so that it an be set to automatically shut down. Best bits:- sound quality is fab, really good; screen is clear and sharp; menu is easy to navigate; micro SD card worked instantly; in built radio finds lots of channels.

I have owned and used a number of MP3 player over the years, including my current Olympus, so where does this fit in? Well first of all it is excellent value for money. Yes, one can buy MP3 players for less, but this is all metal, and does considerably more than most. My criteria is that it must have an FM radio that I can tune myself, but most importantly, that I can quickly and easily record. So if I am attending a convention and the talks or whatever are broadcast over a local FM frequency, then I can both listen and record it. Yes, you can listen to music, and loading my MP3 files into it, via my lap top, was very easy. I put Beethoven's Piano Concerto Number 1, (1st Movement), and through my Beyerdynamic full headphones, it sounded as good as listening to it through my system. The volume can be very high and with little to no distortion. When the full orchestra came in, I was very impressed, with each instrument clearly heard, and then the piano solo was sublime. When I listened to the Corrs, (Breathless), then again, this is excellent. The bass is as much as you would want, (not too much as seems to be the fashion nowadays), and enough treble too, although through the menu you can adjust the sound for heavy, bass, or about 8 different settings, including setting your own via an equaliser. So, do I recommend this player? Absolutely. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Build quality is fantastic, I love the metal casing, it gives it a really premium feel and look. The key presses are solid provide good feedback, as does the navigational dial wheel. There is a very small status LED on the front near the bottom edge. Music Playing is Really good, I’ve loaded up a microSD card with some of my favourite (and varying genre) music and once I had changed the equaliser to the preset ‘BASS’ setting, I was very happy. I found the normal, default setting to favour treble too much for my tastes. I am only using cheap, £15 earphones though so that may not help the situation. It’s great to have the option to be able to use a presets to find the sweet spot for the kind of music you listen to/headphones you use. Voice recording is the other main function I will be using and the microphone does an excellent job, regardless of which round you hold the device, it records my voice very accurately (still don’t like listening to myself though!) There are loads of options/settings included for listening to music including a sleep mode that will turn itself off after a preset, user selectable amount of time. The power button acts as a lock button too, a short press will either lock on unlock it and when locked no buttons will work so no accidentally changing tracks or increasing volume. The screen can be set to turn off automatically after a preset amount of time to help save on battery life, which is very, very good - I'm surprised how long it lasts. The only thing I would've liked to have seen is bluetooth so I could connect it up to my bluetooth speaker but it does has a proper line out so I can use a cable if I want to and it’s not by using the headphone jack which always mutes the volume some what so I think I can live without bluetooth. ***If you find my review helpful, please click the helpful button. I purchased this for my daughter who is 10 years old and is constantly sitting on her ipad watching YouTube video’s and I wanted something to introduce her more to the joy of music but also have a greater control over content, due to some questionable video’s I caught her watching on YouTube she is not allowed her ipad in her bedroom so this is something she can use there and when she is out. This arrived in a solid black dodocool branded box with the MP3 player packed in a rubber cut out with power/transfer lead and instructions under it, the first thing I noticed after unpacking was how solid and well finished this was with its aluminium body and extremely clear QVGA LCD screen you could feel and see the high quality. After switching it on I linked it up to my computer and transferred some MP3’s over and also put some albums on a micro SD card as I wanted to test this feature, the transfer was fairly quick although I would think this is also dependent on the speed of your computer, USB connection and transfer rate. The menu is very easy to navigate using the wheel going through in a clockwise motion you have Now Playing, Playlist, Radio, Record, Explorer and finally Settings. Going through the settings you have an option of an alternative interface, and in common settings you can adjust the screen saver timer and screen brightness, I did turn the brightness up a bit on this but again a personal preference and no doubt my daughter will adjust it again. There is also an option for timed shutdown and auto power off both with the option of disabling them, an option to increase the boot volume and format both the internal 8gb memory and external micro SD card. I found the sound quality superb totally lacking any distortion even at the highest level, I tried it with a small external speaker which worked instantly and also attached my daughters headset again working flawlessly and certainly very powerful, I tested the sound recorder which came out very clear and I would think ideal if you wanted to record memos as it has a pause and continue recording feature with the mic being inbuilt into the unit. I have added a video and will also add some pictures, in this I show unpacking, going through the menu, selecting and playing some MP3’s from the internal 8gb memory then adding a micro SD card loaded up with some albums and playing a few songs from that, I then went on to test the radio which I found to be impressively clear and easy to tune, please be aware the sound and video are crystal clear but the video quality often degrades considerable . As a side note if you find the video won’t run as I often find then expand it to full size and start it then reduce the size again. What I liked ************* - Nice design with a high quality metal finish - The QVGA LCD screen giving a very clear display - The menu layout is very nice and easy to navigate - Ability to add up to a 256GB micro SD card - Sound recording, a nice added feature that could be useful - In built radio - Choice of interfaces selectable through the settings - Up to 30 hour’s playtime from a single charge - Supports a multitude of different audio formats - Really great quality sound What I Didn’t Like ******************** - The manual could be better and more in depth but as everything is simple to navigate and self-explanatory not a big deal and I am not reducing my overall rating for it. Summary ********** Overall this is a really solid high quality MP3 player with some nice added extras, the sound is superb and my daughter is over the moon with it so for these reasons it gets full marks from me. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.

I bought this MP3 player and I am pleased to say that it is absolutely excellent. Firstly, the 256 GB capacity with an SD card is simply bliss; that is massively above a similar ipod. Next, the high resolution music is incredibly good quality and can be adapted easily. The whole design seems really compact and neat, yet not small. And, the ease of use by switching between songs and turning the volume up and down is very good. Having an FM function on an MP3 is also a nice touch and makes the whole device really worth the money. The 8GB of internal storage is adequate for many music listeners but given that you can install and listen to high quality music Anyhow, a fantastic product of very high quality,

If your expectation is primarily the ability to manage a variety of audio formats, then this will do absolutely fine. The software is good and the functions are all intuitive and it comes with 8gb internal memory. A good find. What's in the box ... - MP3 player - Micro USB cable - Instruction manual The MP3 player has an aluminium feel, rectangular in shape and measures 9.5cm x 5.4cm x 1.3cm. It has a silicone wheel on the front along with 4 buttons - menu, forward, previous and back. Power button, headphone and line out located at top, volume on side and micro USB port and micro sd card slot at the bottom. It looks rather nice and sleek. The screen is plastic (not glass) and measures c.5cm x 4cm. The MP3 player weighs 111g. The buttons have a click sound and feel to them. On switching on the MP3 player, you are greeted with "dodocool" and then the menu. Using the scroll wheel, you are able to work through the menu. Loading music can be done directly onto the MP3 player, as it has an 8gb capacity or via an sd card. I chose to initially load my music directly onto the MP3 player. Simple to do - drag and drop files and folders. Device driver software installs fairly swiftly and charging occurs whilst the MP3 player is connected. Music Earphones are not provided so I am testing with my klipsch in ear earphones. MP3's play as expected and the sound quality produced is good too. Irrespective of earphones and/or headphones or audio format, sound quality was very good but not higher end. Menu is easy to navigate thankfully, as the instructions are useless. You can also repeat songs or shuffle. Radio - not great. I only managed to tune a few of my favourites - most had static. Battery is stated as 1400mAh and can manage 30 hours working time. I have only been using this MP3 player for a few weeks so it is hard to pass too much judgement on the build quality, but my initial impressions are that it is very well put together. Conclusion If your expectation is for a device that can manage a diverse number of different music formats, then you will not be disappointed. If you're after a high end high audio quality MP3 player, look away. Also, I found it took too long to scroll through the tracks and there was no easy way to search for particular tracks. All said and done, this is a good MP3 player, and if you are seeking to move away from having music loaded solely on your phone, as I am, then this is a good MP3 player to start that particular journey on. The software is good and the functions are all intuitive and having played with this device for a while, I like it - the cost to quality ratio is probably about right.

This item was delivered in a dodocool branded black box,. Inside you will find the mp3 player housed in foam, a mini usb charger and a manual. Surprisingly, no earphones. The player itself is solidly manufactured in aluminium, and sports a nice grey finish. On the bottom you will find the tf card slot and the charge port, with the audio jack, line out and power button located at the top. Volume buttons are situated on the side. The screen is 2inch diagonal, and pretty competent. Below the screen you will find the controls buttons. Very impressed with the build. It is a weighty device, which lends an air of quality to the player. Handled mp3 files and flac files without any issues and with a pair of headphones plugged in, the radio had pretty good reception too. Sound quality is as expected, if you have decent quality sound files, and a pair of premium headphones, you will appreciate this player. Have used it so far for around 23 hours, and the battery is still fine. At the price, it’s a device I won’t worry about losing or damaging, and it will be quite good for the daily commute Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I reserve the right to revisit and edit this review as appropriate after further testing of this product. I Hope you find this review useful. Thank You

With my growing collection of Indian classical music, I needed an MP3 player not only with at least 8gb storage, but also the one that would allow Folder View because I had to store more than several hundred songs divided into folders. A 8gb player that I bought for more than 50 quids did not do this and searching a song to play from the long list was a huge headache and waste of time and money. So I bought this player and inserted a 64gb micro memory card into it. The experiment was a success. Now I can store several hundred more songs. Since the player allows Folder View, I can search and play the each song without long search and headache. It took me some time to learn how to use the controls on the wheel. The sound quality of the built in speaker is just tolerable, and the earphone provided is uncomfortable to my ears. But I use high quality headphone which I already had and the experience is wonderful. An MP3 player costing four times as much could perhaps have not done for me what this player has done.

No, it's not as good as players costing 10 or 20 times the price. However, at less than £50 (now less than £40) this is an out and out bargain. Sure it has no real manual, not even online, but mostly it's fairly intuitive. One annoyance is that if you want to use a 64GB or higher capacity SDHC card with it, that card will probably come formatted to exFAT 32, The DA 106 can't read from that format, though it is happy to write files to it via the USB connector, leading to some confusion. I loaded over 35GB of files to the card before discovering the problem. All is not lost however. If using Windows 7 or later you just have to reformat the card to FAT 32 using the free version of EaseUS Partition Manager. This can even be done via the USB connector. Another weakness is that the so-called aux output passes through the volume control circuitry. The lack of an optical digital output is also a bit of a missed opportunity for greater utility. At the price I do not feel the loss of a single star it justified, so five stars it is.

Firstly, this is my 1st MP3 player so cannot compare to others but I'm really pleased with this. I loaded tracks converted from my CD collection to MP3 via my laptop using Windows Explorer and simply dragging and dropping the files to the player. Seemed quick and easy. As usual with these things, the instruction booklet is very basic but I found my way around the menus easily enough - and I'm a very long way from being a teenager!I think the sound is really good and for the price I'm very pleased.

Let's start by saying that I noticed lot of nonsense / stupid reviews with 2 and 3 stars. As a professional with over 18 years of experience in computer and science fields (programming, debugging, hacking, reverse engineering, hardware fixing, building PCs..etc) I can tell that they have no idea what they are saying. This mp3 player is really amazing. It's very easy to use and has all the features that you ever need for mp3 player. It has 8gb internal storage (7gb usable) and supports up to 256gb Micro SD cards. What's bit confusing, is that it has 2 audio outputs, not sure why you need 2? In manual it says one is for headphones and other for line-out, but anyone with even bit of brain power would know that it's exactly the same thing! Headphones are no different from any other audio device, so saying "headphones output" or "speaker output" is nonsense, audio output is audio output. I'd prefer if it had audio input instead, so you could connect a stand alone mic to it, even tho it has built-in microphone and it has amazingly good quality, I'd still prefer having audio input. The playback functions are as usual, using the buttons on the device you can select next or previous track and also pause/play and change volume. In options you can also lock all or some buttons when screen is off, that's useful if you have it in your pocket, so you won't accidently press any buttons. If they're locked, you must first press the on/off button to unlock it, then buttons are usable. There are also sleep mode, auto-off mode ..etc, the usual stuff, including FM Radio. I don't know about "lossless" part tho as most devices nowdays are lossless, but I mixed this with Linkwitz headphones and audio quality is amazing! In fact it's so good that i can hear the imperfections in mp3 files that i never knew about when listening my music over speakers on PC. All in all, I think it's a really good mp3 player and works exactly as described.

Unit comes presented in a nice black box with cutaway foam inserts. It looks good and is suitable as a gift. Inside the box is the MP3 player, charging cable and instruction manual. The unit is 6 x 9 cm with a large screen, click wheel and several buttons for controlling volume etc. There is a micro-SD card slot and a micro-USB charging port. It feels weighty and solid, and has a brushed metal finish that looks and feels good. Straight out of the box it gives an impression of quality. I plugged in a 200 GB micro SD card and it recognised it straight away, no having to format it or anything. The menus are easy to navigate using the click wheel. Selecting music was simple, and I was listening in no time. So why buy one of these instead of just using the MP3 player on your phone? Firstly, for me anyway, is ease of use. On my smart phone I have no end of trouble with setting up playlists, and slow copy speeds from computer to phone and finally things just disappearing just when I think they have loaded. no such problems here. The big bonus though is the sound quality. This will play .flac's and other high quality digital formats (my phone won't) and the out put sound is impressive. I have it hooked up through some decent big headphones and it sounds just like playing a CD. Even through lesser ear buds it is impressive and noticeably better than MP3s. In all a great little thing - looks good, is well presented, easy to use and sounds great, 5 stars.

This really is a nice player. It's about the size and weight of an iPod Classic and it feels substantial and well made. It is dead easy to work out how to navigate around the menus which is just as well as the instruction booklet is nothing other than a diagram that identifies all the various buttons and controls. The screen display is just superb. There are two styles to choose from and both look really neat and stylish. It's very clear what each of the menu options are; both from the symbol and the written description which appears on screen as you scroll through. One of the things I really like is the way it indexes files. It arranges things in the order you have them on your computer, i.e. folders with subfolders. As a result its very quick and easy to go straight to what you want to listen to. Other players I have tried tend to make a bit of a mess of file indexing and it can be a hassle to find what you want, but not with this player. It also works really well with Media Go (Sony's free media player). Both the internal and external memories appear on screen and you can just click and drag to move your music etc around. All in all it looks and feels great. Perhaps more importantly, it sounds fantastic too. It doesn't come with headphones which is no bad thing because the ones usually supplied with MP3 players are pretty poor. I am more than happy to recommend this MP3 player.

First things first. The dealer was excellent - honest, prompt with courteous communication. The original price was great and when they reduced it by £10 I bought a second player. Dodocool arrives in a smart packaging box, reminding me very much of Apple players. It looks the business, handles well and as it is made of metal it has an expensive feel about it. The sound is streets ahead of the iPods, the lossless files in particular having a depth of sound that is illuminating given the very low price. Why pay hundreds for the same quality? I'm no expert on audio but it works for me. I also use the player for audiobooks and it is superb for that. I recommend you play around with the controls for it has its own style. It took me an hour to get to grips but everything seems second nature now. One point that may help is to format the micro-sd card on the player itself. It did not recognise several cards and I feared the worst until I formatted them. Then there's no problem and no lag on the high capacity cards. They are very cheap now so storage is not a problem. No need to struggle with the lousy iplayer. Loading files is drag and drop and it takes a variety of files. Frankly the player is a revelation at this or anything near the price. Great present, as my wife will discover at Christmas.

Great product, sound is extremely good, two outputs on top but (as others have said) cannot understand why one is marked "earphone" the other "line out" as both serve the same purpose. Product turned up within 2weeks well wrapped and secure. Battery life seems very good, although can't say whether its 30 hours or not, but after two weeks of an average of 1-1:30 hours per day only one bar has dropped from the battery icon. Instructions are laughable though, more a listing of buttons, etc, than in anyway describing how to use the player. Most is intuitive though, and transferring music to the player is very easy, just hook up via usb to computer and drag and drop. All in all can recommend this as a good, well made product.
